There's a biblical principle regarding going the extra mile. Since its inclusion in the Bible 2000 years ago countless caring business people have been driven to bring the principle into their business practices. They assume that if it was a good idea from the perspective of Jesus then it must also be a good idea to go the extra mile in serving customers in the business arena.
I have attempted to do that very thing as well. Some customers don't really notice the small extras I provide during cleaning but some do. In fact some go so far as to say it in an online review.
Here's an example:
I was so impressed when I called to make my appointment that Mr. Guthrie, the owner answered the phone himself! What a wonderful experience it was the day my carpets were cleaned. First of all Mr. Guthrie was extremely punctual, even early as he finished his earlier job and telephoned to see if it was ok to come then. Although this customer didn't use the words, "He went the extra mile" I think it is obvious that is what she meant.
