A Tough Situation for Mom
A daughter of an elderly woman (late 80s) contacted Kleaneasy Carpet Cleaning Huntsville Alabama because her mom had developed a severe upper respiratory condition. In her mom’s house there had been a build up of dust, dirt, and pet dander in the carpets that inflamed and worsened her mom’s condition.
This build up had developed over many years. In addition, three dogs created an intense pet urine issue because the elderly woman could no longer tend to them. The dogs did their “business” everywhere and that was causing a terrible stench. The daughter nor her family could afford to have the carpets replaced. As a result, the family had to make several difficult decisions.
However, after she moved her into the nursing home, her mother became miserable and developed severe depression. Her mother hated the nursing home and begged her daughter everyday to take her home. It was such an emotional toll for the daughter who obviously loved her mother deeply.
The daughter, with the assistance of her family, decided to bring mom home and tend to her needs as a family. The elderly woman had been a wonderful mother and had made many sacrifices for her children over the years. The family decided that the least they could do was to take care of their sweet mom during her latter years.
Countless families face this challenging decision every day. It carries such emotional weight and often a family simply does not have a choice other than a nursing home. This family, however, did have other options.
The daughter decided to have her mother’s home deep cleaned and painted in order to remove the horrible smell and bad air quality that was contributing to her mom’s breathing issues.

She called me and asked if there was any hope for her mother’s carpets. I told her that I had been successful at removing heavy stains and odors and would be glad to try.
When I arrived at the house the odor almost knocked me over. I wasn’t surprised that this momma had so many health issues. The odor alone would make any healthy person nauseous.
I knew exactly what to do.
I began by thoroughly vacuuming with my Kirby Vacuum. After decades of using different vacuums, I am now convinced that nothing beats a Kirby for deep dirt and dander removal.
Next, I treated the carpets with bacteria destroying enzymatic deodorizers, cleansers, and professional grade hydrogen peroxide. I allowed this heavy treatment to dwell for 20 minutes so that the odor-causing bacteria could be killed.
I then scrubbed the carpets using a counter rotating brush system to work the enzymes deep into the carpet fibers. At this point the carpet was beginning to look and smell a hundred times better.
Finally, after finishing the pre-treatment work, I performed a deep hot water extraction (AKA: steam cleaning). The carpet looked amazing!
In fact, I am still amazed at the results I get even after 40 years of cleaning carpets. Specifically, the carpet became spotless, and I completely eliminated all odors.
The daughter was able to bring her mother home.
Can you imagine how good I felt for making this possible for this mother and daughter?
